Overview
This guide lists and maps all 223 named locations in Borderlands 3. I produced it because the game currently tends to refuse giving the “Master of All You Survey” Achievement for finding all of Borderland 3’s locations. This is happening even though a person’s Galaxy map lists all 223 out of 223 named locations found, and all Planetary and Local maps also show all named locations found. It’s an attempt to make retracing tracks through those worlds a bit easier.
Introduction
Master Of All You Survey:
Discover all named locations.
Objective:
I’ve seen many posts that the “Master Of All You Survey” Achievement in Borderlands 3 is bugged and is not getting awarded even though the Galaxy Progress statistics show 223/223 named locations found. Because of this, many people (including me) are having to revisit all 223 locations across more than 5 worlds in an attempt to get the Achievement to pop. I’ve done my best to design this guide to help those people revisit all those named locations and get the Achievement. Of course, people who just need a bit of help here and there with the Achievement can use it too, but I tend to assume the player is way overpowered for the areas and has full access to all locations.
Important Note:
- As I write this, it looks like Borderlands 3 is resetting the “discovered” status of all named locations when the player visits Sanctuary or quits the game (either to the main game menu or entirely). So, if you’re trying to get the Achievement, you’ll need to revisit all 223 locations in one session (and don’t go to Sanctuary in the middle of things). Considering that that’s probably about three to four hours worth of effort (if you know exactly where to go), I’m not too sure if anyone will actually want to try this at this time (I’m certainly going to wait to see if the developer’s fix this). But, maybe with this guide, things will be easier.
- Also, if you’ve finished the game at least once and are going through just to get the Achievement, I highly recommend you turn Mayhem Mode off (either in Sanctuary or from your character’s menu). That will drop enemies back down to the normal area level caps instead of bringing them up to yours. IOW, running straight through the enemies instead of fighting them will be much easier.

The map for Athenas is from:
I definitely recommend that site since you can interact with the maps and customize them in many ways.
In the material below, I’ll refer to the cardinal directions as north, east, south and west as they appear on those screenshots. AFAIK, our main maps in the game don’t indicate cardinal directions (though the mini-map does show “N” for north). For the maps that come from my game as screenshots, I’ve oriented my character to face north to maintain a consistent orientation.
Be warned that this guide contains major spoilers since it shows every named location in the base game and what the maps look like.
Also, in case you’re using a 21:9 resolution (as I do) and can’t see the full legends/instructions on the maps, you can find your total number of found named locations at various map scales by doing the following:
- Hit “M” to bring up the local map
- Hit “X” until you get to the map level you want (Galaxy, Planetary, Local)
- Select the planet or local map you want.
- Hit “R” to bring up the Progress statistics.
Planets and Maps and Guides (oh my):
There are 4 planets with Achievements for finding all their named location (Pandora, Eden-6, Promethea and Nekrotafeyo). I’ve written guides for all of them and, instead of duplicating them here, will just reference them. Additionally, Athenas has named locations but no Achievement for finding them. I’ll include full information here. Then there are the 7 “end game” maps in the base game (Slaughterstar 3000, Ghostlight Beacon, Gradient of Dawn, Precipe Anchor, The Hall of Obsidian, The Skydrowned Pulpit and Wayward Tether). Since I’m assuming full access to everything in the game, I won’t give information on finding those areas, but I will show named location information.
Achievement Planets and Guides:
I’ve linked to my Guides for each of these planet’s named locations:
- Pandora (78 named locations): [link]
- Eden-6 (63 named locations): [link]
- Promethea (43 named locations): [link]
- Nekrotafeyo (27 named locations): [link]
Non-Achievement Planets and Areas:
- Athenas (5 named locations)
- Slaughterstar 3000 (1 named location)
- Ghostlight Beacon (1 named location)
- Gradient of Dawn (1 named location)
- Precipice Anchor (1 named location)
- The Hall of Obsidian (1 named location)
- The Skydrowned Pulpit (1 named location)
- Wayward Tether (1 named location)
I’ve ordered those areas by their number of named locations. I don’t know if that’s the best order to try going back through to get the Achievement. But, it seems reasonable. I’ve ordered the sections below the same way.
Also, unlike with the Achievement Planets, it looks like the game actually remembers the Discovered status of the named locations on most of the Non-Achievement Planets. It looks like the only map that it forgets is Precipice Anchor. So, if you’re sure you’ve already discovered all the named locations on the Non-Achievement Planets, you might be able to save a few minutes by deferring all but the Precipice Anchor map until after you’ve tried all the rest.
Athenas (5 named locations)
The 5 named locations on Athenas are:
- Stormhaven Square
- Windward Plaza
- The Holy Distillery
- Dido’s Remorse
- The Anchorhold
The Fast Travel location is at the west side of the map. Jump down from there and turn right (east). As you approach the first archway, you should get Stormhaven Square. Continue through the first open area and as you leave it you’ll get Windward Plaze. Continue all the way out of the town to where the path splits. Head left (north) and enter the brewery. After the first room, you’ll get The Holy Distillery. Reverse your path to the bridge going left (east) and follow the path to the cemetery. As you enter the gates, you’ll get Dido’s Remorse. Turn around and go back to where the paths first split (by the vending machine). Continue south across the bridge. About halfway across, you’ll get The Anchorhold.
Note: it looks like Athenas is one of the very few maps that the game remembers the Discovered status of named locations. So, if you’re sure you’ve already discovered all the named locations here, you might be able to save a few minutes by deferring re-running the map until after you’ve tried all the rest.
Slaughterstar 3000 (1 named location)
The 1 named location in Slaughterstar 3000 is:
- Slaughterstar 3000
The Fast Travel location is at the south side of the map. You should get the location as you fast travel in. Pay attention for that. In one run, no matter what I did, I couldn’t get the location to pop. I had to fast travel to another place, quit the game, re-start the game, and then fast travel back to get the location. The problem is that in the current state of the game, quitting the game to get this location will reset all you other locations to undiscovered.
Note: it looks like Slaughterstar 3000 is one of the very few maps that the game remembers the Discovered status of named locations. So, if you’re sure you’ve already discovered the one named location here, you might be able to save a few seconds by deferring this map until after you’ve tried all the rest.
Ghostlight Beacon (1 named location)
The 1 named location in Ghostlight Beacon (Proving Grounds – Cunning) is:
- Trial of Cunning
The Fast Travel location is at the southeast of the map. You should get the location halfway between the spawn point and the mission giver (where my character (the arrow) is in the screenshot).
Note: it looks like Ghostlight Beacon is one of the very few maps that the game remembers the Discovered status of named locations. So, if you’re sure you’ve already discovered the one named location here, you might be able to save a few seconds by deferring this map until after you’ve tried all the rest.
Gradient of Dawn (1 named location)
The 1 named location in Gradient of Dawn (Proving Grounds – Survival) is:
- Gradient of Dawn
The Fast Travel location is at the north of the map. You should get the location halfway between the spawn point and the mission giver (where my character (the arrow) is in the screenshot).
Note: it looks like Gradient of Dawn is one of the very few maps that the game remembers the Discovered status of named locations. So, if you’re sure you’ve already discovered the one named location here, you might be able to save a few seconds by deferring this map until after you’ve tried all the rest.
Precipice Anchor (1 named location)
The 1 named location in Precipice Anchor (Proving Grounds – Discipline) is:
- Precipice Anchor
The Fast Travel location is at the east of the map. You should get the location halfway between the spawn point and the mission giver (where my character (the arrow) is in the screenshot).
The Hall of Obsidian (1 named location)
The 1 named location in The Hall of Obsidian (Proving Grounds – Supremacy) is:
- The Hall Obsidian
The Fast Travel location is at the east of the map. You should get the location halfway between the spawn point and the mission giver (where my character (the arrow) is in the screenshot).
Note: it looks like Hall of Obsidian is one of the very few maps that the game remembers the Discovered status of named locations. So, if you’re sure you’ve already discovered the one named location here, you might be able to save a few seconds by deferring this map until after you’ve tried all the rest.
The Skydrowned Pulpit (1 named location)
The 1 named location in The Skydrowned Pulpit (Proving Grounds – Fervor) is:
- The Skydrowned Pulpit
The Fast Travel location is at the south of the map. You should get the location halfway between the spawn point and the mission giver (where my character (the arrow) is in the screenshot).
Note: it looks like The Skydrowned Pulpit is one of the very few maps that the game remembers the Discovered status of named locations. So, if you’re sure you’ve already discovered the one named location here, you might be able to save a few seconds by deferring this map until after you’ve tried all the rest.
Wayward Tether (1 named location)
The 1 named location in Wayward Tether (Proving Grounds – Instinct) is:
- Wayward Tether
The Fast Travel location is at the west of the map. You should get the location halfway between the spawn point and the mission giver (where my character (the arrow) is in the screenshot).
Note: it looks like Wayward Tether is one of the very few maps that the game remembers the Discovered status of named locations. So, if you’re sure you’ve already discovered the one named location here, you might be able to save a few seconds by deferring this map until after you’ve tried all the rest.

Conclusion
With the game currently resetting the status of named locations to un-discovered upon quitting, I’m not sure if people will be willing to run through all 223 locations at one sitting to get this Achievement. Hopefully, the developers will fix this soon. If you do run into the problem, please file a formal bug report at:
If you somehow get the Achievement, I’d appreciate it if you left a comment below relating how you did it and about how long it took.
