Aldi, a German supermarket chain known for its no-frills approach to value shopping, has opened two locations in Las Vegas.
They're the first Aldi stores to open in the major Nevada hub.
It’s big news for a brand rapidly building out its national grocery footprint, with most current locations concentrated on the East Coast.
Aldi, which opened its first US store in 1976, has expanded from eastern New Hampshire to eastern Texas.
Only a few stores dot the West Coast, with a small cluster in Southern California.
The company operates more than 2,500 locations across 40 US states andplans toopen 225 new storesthis year alone. It opened 105 last year.
'We've built our reputation on delivering real value without cutting corners,' Aldi's CEO,Jason Hart, said.
Aldi has been on a tear opening new stores - it has two new locations to aid its westward expansion
'We’re growing rapidly from coast-to-coast. Opening stores in Las Vegas gives us the opportunity for continued growth in this exciting market and allows us to bring an affordable and fun grocery experience to shoppers nationwide.'
Shoppers have praised Aldi online for its blend of budget pricing and streamlined efficiency.
TikTokers typically say they save on common household items compared to other grocery stores, while walking away with products ranging from avocados to air fryers.
Each location feels like a warehouse crossed with a treasure hunt — minimalist layouts, concrete floors, and thousands of low-cost private-label items.
Aldi is intent on bringing this low-cost vision deeper into the western U.S.
The company announced in 2023 that it plans to open 800 new locations by 2028.
Its boldest move came in 2024, when it spent $5 billion to acquire Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket stores, mostly in Florida.
Aldi has said it plans to revamp and rebrand most of those stores with its signature offerings.

But the company still has a long way to go before it can claim a seat at the top of the grocery game.
Grocery stores sold $895.1 billion worth of products in the US last year. Walmart dominated with a 21.4 percent market share.
Kroger came in second with 8.9 percent. Aldi had less than one percent of US grocery sales.
Still, its expansion is outpacing every other major grocery chain in the country.
Its 105 new stores in 2024 were more than double that of its nearest competitor.
Florida-based Publix opened the second most, with just 43 new locations.
Many growing, middle-income states still don’t have Aldi stores — but that’s likely to change soon.
The company currently has no locations in New Mexico, Washington State, Oregon, Montana, or Utah.
'They just have not gotten there yet,' one Redditor commented on the company's lack of west-coast locations.
'World domination takes time.'
